golfing in the fall

The fall season is a great time of year to play our 18-hole championship golf course at Baywood Greens! Our community has spectacular fall foliage, the weather is cooler and booking a tee time is easy! When you go for a round of golf during this season, you want to be ready. Here are some tips that will help you have a great round of golf and stay comfortable while you’re playing!
Before you set out for your round, make sure you’re going to be ready for the weather. Layering will be your best friend and will keep you comfortable throughout your round.  You’ll also want to bring things such as hand warmers and golf gloves to keep your hands warm throughout your round. Before you play, make sure to stretch your muscles. It’s a lot easier to pull a muscle in colder weather so take the extra time to avoid an injury!

When you’re playing your round, try and hedge your expectations. There are a lot of outside factors that could affect your round such as weather and falling leaves so don’t be disappointed if your round is higher than usual. One way that you can combat poor weather is by using a softer ball. You won’t get as much length on your shot but you’ll have more feel on the ball allowing you to have more accurate shots. You can get some of the distance back by going a club up on your shot, which is a good idea anyway since your muscles are going to be tighter.

Since courses tend to be less crowded this time of year, it’s the perfect time to work on your game! You can play at a more leisurely pace and work on parts of your game that you may not have been able to during the summer months. Plus, you get to be outside and appreciate the beautiful surroundings of Baywood Greens! So enjoy the fact that you still get to play golf this late into the year and have fun playing as many rounds as you can before the snow gets here!
