Posted by Baywood Blog Team

It’s time to come out of winter hibernation and start experiencing all that Sussex County has to offer this spring! When you live at Baywood Greens, you’re just minutes from some of the best festivals, fairs, and events in the area. Check out some of our favorites and head out to explore with friends and family!

8th Annual Lewes Tulip Celebration, April 6-17

We love flowers here at Baywood Greens, so we just had to mention the Lewes Tulip Celebration. Check out the beautiful spring tulips in all their gorgeous glory, ride the Tulip Trolley, and check out the submissions to the tulip photography contest. This year Lewes planted 19,500 tulips and spring bulbs, compared to 15,000 last year. That’s a lot of tulips!

1st Annual Two Lips Culinary Week, April 6-13

In conjunction with the Tulip Celebration, this is the first year for a restaurant-week inspired event! Participating restaurants will have a special menu item during the event, and all customers who order one of the specials will be entered in the TWO-LIPS Culinary Week raffle drawing. The amazing grand prize is a 2-night stay at the Dogfish Inn!

Annual Dewey Beach Egg Scoop, April 15

Bring the kids, your own egg basket, and your competitive spirit to the Dewey Beach Egg Scoop! Search for some eggs and then take free photos with the DBP Easter Bunny, games, music and so much more! This free event is perfect for kids and families.

Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure, April 20

Ahoy mateys! Who doesn’t love learning about shipwrecks and the possibility of sunken treasure? Learn about the heroic surfmen of the U.S. Life Saving Service that responded to thousands of shipwrecks along the Atlantic seaboard, and even search for buried treasure. Space is limited, so register now.

22nd Annual Spring Delmarva Birding Weekend, April 27-30

It’s that time of the year again: time to welcome the birds back to the beach! This annual event, popular with serious birdwatchers, celebrates our early-arriving spring migrants and late-wintering waterfowl and raptors. Last year a record 174 species were tallied! Register now for hiking, paddling, and boating experiences.

28th Ocean to Bay Bike Tour, April 29

For those who enjoy exercise and beautiful scenery, push the pedals at the Ocean to Bay Bike Tour! All routes start and end in Bethany Beach, and you have multiple routes to choose from depending on your experience/comfort level.
