Hottest Wedding Trends for 2016

Hottest Wedding Trends of 2016

We have searched high and low for the latest wedding trends of the year…. See some of our favorites!!

1.  Palettes and Themes

It looks like there are three major wedding palettes on the forefront right now – for the first, think soft bohemian romance, with lots of nudes, blushes, and ivories.  Take a look at our favorite wedding of 2015, Darya and Ruslan’s Bohemian garden-inspired dreamy color palette…

We absolutely love the idea of mixing up the color of your bridesmaid’s dresses!

And check out this AMAZING bohemian inspired blush and ivory floral headpiece that our ever-so-talented florist, Linda Geise created for the bride!  #swoon!!

If bohemian romance is not your cup of tea, bold color statements are also on the lookout.  Gem tones and combinations of vibrant colors are all the rage.

Vibrant colors in your bouquet are a great way to show your style!

Maybe you don’t want to be understated, but you aren’t quite bold enough for mixing too many colors together.  Are you in the GLAM category?  Then, you’ll love the last look… Metallics!  Feel free to mix and match them – gold, silver, bronze, even blushy metallic.  Metallics are classic, but unexpected.

Check out Lindsay and Alper’s metallic wedding cake stunner at Baywood last summer by our favorite baker, Jen Rineer at Carolina Sugar Fairy!

Lastly, our new favorite linen for the season is this gorgeous Blush Pink Metallic Glimmer – use it as an accent throughout your reception décor, and it’s nothing but glammy perfection!

2. Make your wedding unique!

Check out this Huffington Post article for a video highlights of some of the coolest and non-traditional wedding trends we’ve seen.  From having grandma be your flower girl (we couldn’t think of anything cuter!), to wearing a secret go pro to document to the day, to having your guests request their songs on their RSVP car ahead time – there are some fresh ideas here to liven up your day!

Or check out this awesome company that brings their set-up to your wedding to print out 3D images!  What a hit this would be… One of our favorite couples in 2015 had a 3D image of themselves printed prior to the wedding and had it displayed at the reception – what a great cake topper idea!

3.  Floral Alternatives
Have you considered adding succulents, moss, or fruit to your centerpieces or bouquets?  The result is rich, lush, and unique!

Take a look at Sara and Sean’s beautifully unexpected centerpieces at their fall Baywood wedding:

4.  Wedding Dress Report

Brides.com reports that the upcoming season is all about fluidity and movement in wedding gowns.  We may be seeing some leg with wedding dress slits, sheer bodices, or plunging necklines; but also dreamy layers, feathers, and 3D embellishments.  Perhaps like some of the gowns we saw displayed at our David Tutera Bridal Show in Philly last month?

Whatever you choose – whatever strikes your fancy, we can’t WAIT to see it!  And we can’t wait to help you plan.  Good luck navigating through the choices of the season, we hope this helped inspire you!

Until next time,
