Countdown to Golf Season
With the Masters less than a month away, we can’t help but get a little excited for golf season. Of course, if it weren’t for this relentless winter, maybe we’d all be hitting the links already! As you know, Baywood Greens is a truly remarkable course – one worthy of international recognition, in our opinion. And this spring, we plan to welcome golfers of all levels of expertise to play on one of Delaware’s best public courses.
But if you’re getting restless just thinking about golfing, there are a few things you can do to tame your cravings until it’s warm enough to play:
Polish Off the Clubs
This might be the best time to get your clubs in tiptop shape before the season is in full swing. Scrub, polish, clean, and repair any damages before you start golfing regularly.
New Golf Shoes, Anyone?
Why not pick up a new pair of golf shoes? Nothing says you're ready for golf season like new shoes! However, if you’re not ready to commit to a new pair quite yet, replace the cleats on your existing ones (soft spikes only at Baywood Greens!). This should help to extend the life of your shoes for one more season.
While You’re At It, a New Outfit Too?
If you’re going to get the shoes, why not get the whole outfit? With cold weather still dominating much of the Mid-Atlantic, select golf clothes are bound to be on sale, with this season’s styles fresh on the rack. And at our Pro Shop, you'll find a huge selection of all of the best golfing gear.
Get to Know Your Clubs
It’s been awhile since you’ve swung your clubs. If it’s too cold to hit the driving range, get the feel for your clubs indoors. Find an open space to practice a full rotation, your swing will feel more natural when the temperatures warm!
Re-Stock Your Bag
Before you set out for a day on the golf course, be sure to restock and clean out the pockets of your golf bag. You'll have no worries when you know you have extra golf balls, plenty of tees, tape, Band-Aids and other golfing necessities right where you need them.
What’s better than playing on Baywood Greens any day you please? Living right down the street from this incredible course, of course!
